  • AC recharged and now leaking somewhere, help

    i just recharged my ac and it is leaking out it seems to be coming from the rubber hose connetions but im not sure cus the dye is every where. what i would like to know is if you have had this problem where is the most likly place to leak so i can start there

    there are some kind seal or something that usually goes bad. The hoses should be cheap, but replace those and go from there.

          does it looks like it's leaking from the hoses hooked to the compressor? Usually, the compressor seal blows, and it just throws the freeon all over the motor when you run it. I put dye in mine when I had a blown compressor seal, and after two days of running the A/C, the whole front of my engine was covered in dye.

              I just went through the exact same thing and had to get a new compressor....@ $600. I hope yours is just a hose or something cheap.

                i replaced my compressor, the hose, and dryer, for around $300, i charged it myself, i have all the equipment through work, but its all easy to change yourself

                  I paid $175 for all mine installed and charged. It helps if you know someone that works for the county that gets big discounts on parts :D That was compressor, orifice tube and condensor I believe.

                    when my ac started leaking it came from the compressor. the center seal blew. cost me $280 for parts and labor. good friends with a machanic.hehehe

                      ^^ very true, it def pays to know someone, i paid about 200 for all mine, it included everything too, complete system.
