i have a 2002 v6 with 56000 miles. First owner and always kept up and the basics, oil change, filter changes, etc. Recently i had to have the battery replaced. Since then I have had a strange shake and shimmy. I feel it when I am at a stop light or parked. It died on me once and ended up changing the fuel pump. The shake is still there. I have replaced the fuel filter, air filter, oil, plugs, wires, and cleaned out the throttle body. Shake is still there. My muffler had a hole on the bottom and I had that replaced. Shake is still there. What in the world could be wrong???

Re: Strange shake
not that little shake........I am OK with that one. Its the BIG "push" and then little "after shocks" that i feel. Feels like a misfire, but no codes or SES lights. Vac leak ?? vapor lock ?? air in the cooling ???
or could it be the fact that I sent my last payment on the car ???

Another thing that could be happening is the ICM is dying. The Ignition Control Module is supposedly the box that the coils mount on, controlling the spark that all 3 coils receive/distribute. They can be pretty expensive.
One other veryyyyy slim possibility is the PCM. My buddy had a problem with his '01 T/A WS6. He was getting missfires and the car would just die randomly on him. Sometimes it wouldn't start. It wasn't because of the VATS PassKeyII or anything, his security light was never on. It just wouldn't start. He replaced the PCM and the problem was gone. He decided to try the PCM after some people on LS1Tech had told him about their similar problems with the non-start, the dying while driving, and the misfire.
Hopefully you won't have that problem though. Hopefully it's just a coil pack.~Chris
1999 Hugger Orange Camaro
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273836

†…faith…hope
