my friends lancer is throwing a code (p0421) which is warmup catalyst efficiency below threshold.
is that just a fancy way of saying that an o2 sensor went out?

sounds like possible cat conv. issues? Not sure how the lancer codes work though -

i looked up some info on lancers and they have 2 o2 sensors, one before the cat and one after the cat.
if the code says warmup catalyst efficiency below threshold (bank 1)
what does bank 1 refer to? is that the sensore before the cat?
