What is the Y87 Performance Package for the V6 Firebird? I am about to buy one that has it, and I am just wondering what it is, and how to find out if the car really is...like a sticker under the hood or something like the WS6 Package. Thanks

Y87 is a performance option. includes....
3.23 LSD rearend
Dual Outlet Exhaust
LT1 Steering Ratio
and i THINK it may include a one piece driveshaft but im not sure.
ask the dealer to give u all the codes -

Pretty much correct, gears are 3.42s though, not 3.23s, the driveshaft is not part of the package, all 99+ cars came with the one piece steel for teh most part. Some 98s had it as well. THe steering ratio will be the same as the v8s of that yearOriginally posted by Niko97RSComment

Pre 98 you also go 4 wheel disc brakes and if the car was a manual it had 3.23s regardless.

Y87 is the performance package for camaros and firebirds. W68 is the firebird appearance package like RS is an appearance package for camaros.Comment
