  • misfires, what to get

at first my car was misfiring or hesitating just little. the only reason I found for this was that I had recently changed from 93 gas to 87. Well I just changed back to 93 last night and my car started running smoother. When I arrived at Mason this morning, my car started to misfire like crazy. It felt like the plugs had been disconnected or something. I changed my plugs and wires last year, I have ac delco platinum and acdelco wires, my question is. Do you guys think the wires are burnt again?? if so should i get these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2470683847
I am also planning on getting NGK spark plugs since my plan is to run turbo in the future.
how do i know its not the coils that are failing?? any way to test them?
    thanks

go to an auto parts store and ask them for a spark tester. $5-10 get one wire and plug one end into the coil and the other the tester. ground out your tester and have someone crank the car over. you will see the arks and be able to tell if one of your coils are putting out the wrong spark or whatever.
for a quick check, when it is pitch black outside pop your hood and look under and over the engine to look for arcing.
if your engine ran better on higher octain I would run a can of injector cleaner through it. (or try seafoam first, and if you dont know much about seafoam do a search cause if you post about it at all the administrators get ticked)
        anyway try those things.
        coils
        wires
        check plugs
        run injector fluid
then resort to checking your engine on a diagnostic computer or you can do this first. just dont spend money on getting it tested until you have checked everything. if it is free, just talk to a mechanic and see if you can get one free or say you wont have him do the work(just fix it yourself anyway). if everything i said turns out to be good then your o2s might be bad. do a search and see what others have done to fix their cars. good luck

The taylors are a good choice. NGK is also a great choice for plugs.
