  • thinking replacing v6 cluster panel

Hey guys, I'm think of replacing my v6 110 mph cluster panel with a 150mph Z28 cluster panel. The removal and installation shouldn't be that hard, but I was wondering about the recalibration of the Odometer!! Anyone do this yet?? Is there anything I need to buy when I get the panel? Is the dealership my only option?? How accurate with the other guages be??

Are you looking to replace it b/c your car goes faster now that you hve modded it? Or b/c you want some type of "ingiglo-like" gauges?

Several reasons....Yeah, the car goes faster now and it sucks when you get really close to 110 and know the car can still go, but I'm gonna be puttting another 3.4L(rebuilt w/NOS) by the end of summer. So I really would like the gauge to read 150 and I like the looks of the Z28 gauges better!!

I hope you remove the speedlimiter first(as for the jet SCU2000, it stops registering on your speedo after 90mph i believe, so that isn't a good option for this...there should be some reprogramming place around you that can change the limter in your computer). As for the installation, it is easy.

As for the odometer, just open up the instrument cluster, unscrew it, unhook it, and do the reverse procedure on the other cluster. It is a simple swap.

As for the recalibration for the tach, you will want to look into the dakota digital adapter. I personally didn't, we just swapped some stuff on the circuit board from the tach part of the circuit board(it required a little soldering).

If you take the needles off(which you might not need to, i can't remember) make sure to not where they were when you took them off. They can be fun to readjust.
