I just moved to TX and for the 1st time I had to have my car inspected. Well I failed emissions. This I do not understand. My cat is <1 year old (3" Catco), the O2 sensors were put in at the same time as the cat, the plugs are less than a year old, the EGR is >2 years old.....The really strange thing is, when I disconnected (I installed a switch) my Jet chip, the Hydrocarbons then raised over the limit and the NOx increased even more.
1. Why would I fail emissions with a new cat and O2 sensors?
2. Why would the emissions increase even more w/o the Jet chip? Did I not allow the computer time to compensate? But does it need time to compensate when it gets reset due to the loss of power?
WTF?
