ok so for the past couple of weeks the water in my radiator has been going down about a cup or so daily ... car runs great and has had no problems the only thing that happens is when the car is turned on and the engine is cool it sounds like it has a cam .... the car is sitting in the garage and water doesnt appear to be leaking so what can be wrong ?
HELP!
If I was you, I would check the level in the reservoir as well. My car has an air leak in the cooling system(I haven't found out where yet), and the coolant level in the radiator kept going down while the level in the reservoir kept going up, because when the car cooled down it couldn't go back into the radiator because air was blocking it. Each time I added more coolant to the radiator, more would get trapped in the reservoir, and I eventually found out that had been happening when one day coolant came gushing out of that little hole on the reservoir cap. You're temperature sensor for the fan/PCM could be bad as well.
