my camaro just hit 127000 and the service engine light will come on somtimes. it still runs fine and when u turn the car off the light will go off. anybody know what causes this

Could be EGR.
You need to get to AZ and let them scan it if you have OBDII. They do it free. If it turns out to be your EGR, use sea foam deep creep to clean to see if that will work before you shell out 135+ for a new one.sigpic

depending on the year of your car will determine which OBD you have, 93/94 have obd1 with the obd1 port, 95 has obd1 with the obd2 port and 96-02 are obd2 with the obd2 ports.
get it scanned, let us know and we can help from there.
current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

Most AutoZones wont do OBDI but still worth a shot. I would check with all your local parts stores before Id pay anything for a scan (they can get pricey). Good Luck.sigpic
