Ok I may be totally off because I dont know what other peoples f-bodys temp's get to.
I have a 2002 and it is always at 210...well right under 210...like 207 or something.
This seems high...am I right?
Anyway, if some people could tell me what temp their cars run under normal circumstances I'd appreciate it.
i have a 180 thermostat with manual fan switch.. now my car never sees above that temp.
but i think the stock thermo is 210.. your fine.

stock thermo should be 195.. cooling fans are set to kick in at 210.

btw lower thermo will help a little but not to its potention untill you reprogram the cooling fans to come on sooner.

jet chip = worthless. Most ppl say the tuning doesn't change much and has no benefits besides that to a manual car. If your an auto go for it. And no it doesn't change when the fans come on. A hpp3 does tho.

Yeah my car is an auto
And I would never have bought one at full price, but because I'm getting it fairly cheap I figure I'll take my chances....I'll let you know how it turns out ::crosses figners:: ;)

Correct.
And for you guys in Texas, remember that heat is your enemy. Even with a 160 thermo, fresh coolant, and Redline Water Wetter, you'll still climb to 210 when you're sitting in traffic. It only sits at 160 when you're moving steadily and air has a chance to pass through the radiator. 160 thermo, Water Wetter, and a manual fan switch are a MUST for anyone living down south. The 3.8 hates running hot. It's an iron block, it loses a ton of power.
