I be ready to buy one!

I have a 97 though, if they don't make one for the 97 I probably won't buy it. If however they make one for a 96 and it WORKS with the 97 then I would buy the version for the 96 that worked for the 97. I don't have a 2000 so I wouldn't buy one for that year unless it too would work with the 97 model year (however I would buy one and only one depending on whether or not there were two). Same goes for a 2002/2003. Now, if they make one for lets say, a honda civic that would work with my 97 I probably WOULDN'T buy it. Thats just me, some with 97s would buy. Don't quote me on that, I may be completely wrong. Of course if I made one for a honda civic that worked on my 97 I would probably buy it but no guarantees. Better yet, if a honda civic made one for me I would buy it, I don't know where I would put it as I am not normally a car. All things being equal I would rather not buy one that didn't work with my car. However, that changes completely if I had a car that it would work in. The biggest question of all is how long I can keep this up as the longer I ramble the less studying I can do (finite amount of time and all). Ah well, back to the books, but yeah, I'd buy one (or not :).

Three tests and a big project this week, I've been studying since I woke up at 7 this morning. School sucks.

ok i wasnt aware of that. oh and believe it or not i wasnt putting down keiths credibility to program i just though that there was another way 2 go besides hacking. i just remembered a while back someone saying hacking isnt a good way or safe way 2 do it. again so i dont get any kind of hate mail and just to clear things up i wasnt putting keith down and saying he does things half assed i just assumed that there was another way 2 program rather trhan hacking, i am gonna do keith a favor and not email him about all the stupid questions i asked him that i should have known the answer to. i know some were dumb but at the time i didnt really know about autotap and laptops, i guess going 2 autotaps site would have helped but i am not gonna bug keith anymore. i will help ANYONE out any way i can so if you guys want 2 know something email me or im me and i will do my best 2 help.

That is true to an extent. I can say that they are using development software that is designed for it.

I know of that software as well.. I could use it too... doesn't make our programming any different.

I could write my own software as well, would that make mine any better? nope.

If you're not the one that wrote the original program and you're changing it without their permission then you're a hacker.

                            Ed Wright is a hacker.

Keith is just an utter idiot that has no clue what the hell he is doing.

                            I'm kidding man.

This guy went to a technical school and is a master programmer. He probably knows way more about programming then Eddy. I've burned chips before with my code and it's not that hard. I used gate logic programming though. I bet I know more about engineering then Eddy can ever dream off. It's not that complicated to do what he does. Keith can do it. It takes time though. I'll beat him with his front sway bar if he doesn't. :D

Just curious, has anybody looked into teaching the pcm to find the upper limits on the ignition timing, instead of hardcoding the timing?

Similar to the approach of a fuel map, which is modified by block learn to hit an optimum o2 reading.

Have a base setting for the ignition timing, with a bit of logic to tweak it up, until the KR kicks in. Store the high point, and use that high point as the starting point from now on.

The basic map would be by rpm and tps setting, retaining whatever tweaks already exist for temps, etc. And of course, a boost sensor to tweak it back down under boost...

Im with Keith more here, cuz I have a 96, and yet with other program tuners for other V6 Fbodies, we 96/97 guys get screwed, yet we have the best times.

But I hear the call hear too.
