  • My alternator went out!

I noticed last nite as I was driving that my amps gauge was in the red. I kept driving and it was only going down and not up..in other words my battery wasnt charging anymore. It started getting really close to "0amps" so I just pulled over parked my car and called my brother to come and give me cables. The battery charged up really quickly so I knew it wasnt the battery. Im going to go check my alt. right now at the parts store to make sure thats what it is before I buy one :( Its like $87..what a waste.

Heh, very common problem. Mine went out recently and my friend with a 96 is on like his 3rd. I got a NAPA one, hopefully it will be better than the autozone ones hes been using.

This comes as a suprise to me, I thought the 3.4's were the ones to eat the alternator's and the 3.8's were good? oh well learn something new every day.
