  • Crankshaft positioning sensor- Help

Car hasn't started in almost two weeks. Last night it finally started and I drove it around until it threw a code. Code was for the Crankshaft position sensor, Can anyone give me any information on where this is and if it's a simple sensor change? I have a '97 3.8. Thanks!

I did a search and didn't find much.

I believe it is located on the front lower center of the block. It should screw right in. It's around the front pulley and has a wiring harness plug on it. I believe it's behind the harmonic balancer.

You have to pull the harm. bal. then after that is off it goes right in.

Btw try to get one that has a lifetime warr. I have already replace it twice in 4 years.

Thanks a lot guys! I'll be happy as hell to get this thing running right again! Car has been out of commission for almost 3 months now with different problems.
