I have to replace the passenger side fender and the front bumper cover....a couple rips in the plastic............anyway, does anyone know if a "regular" guy can do this with relative ease? I have already bought the parts and am now looking for the most economical way to install them. I was thinking about going to MAACO and having them color match my car, paint the parts and I just pull the old ones off and put the new ones on. I'm not a body guy but consider myself fairly adept with a socket set.
Is this a hard thing? Any help is appreciated.
I went to the junkyard and picked me up a hood for my 90 firebird it was pretty straight to that and the hinges bought new struts for it, but it was simple just make sure to mark how everything is lined up so you dont have any issues with the body panels not lining up properly. as for the paint i did it my self i stripped all the old paint off with a can of aircraft stripper, then put a couple coats of rustoleum primer on sanding between coats then i bought 4 cans of the duplicolor gm paint thats supposed to match the factory color and bought a couple cans of clear coat, after 48hrs i used medium rubbing compound then 2 coats of wax.
