 i just changed the bad oil sender on my 94 firebird that is next to the filter but my oil pressure seems to drop progressively from start up and continues on to when i drive. it now starts below 80 ends up below 40 as i drive but as i accelrat it moves back up....i checked the engine for leaks which i no longer have and i just changed the oil... and still getting the same results the car is running fine as per normal......

Re: oil pressure dropping as i continue driving
its fine to have ur oil pressure up near 80 when the car is cold, normal.
After your oil is fully heated up it should be at atleast 20 psi or higher at idle. If it is not, you probable have one of the following.
1.Worn engine
2. weak/bad oil pump
3. wrong viscosity oil, i run 10w40 now, helps alittle with low oil pressure
