I don't think fuel pumps hiss. It might be something with your gas tank.

My car's done that since the day I bought it, and nothing fallen out yet.

The fuel pump's gone out??! Nah, these are GM products, they don't break. Jeez, the next thing you'll say is that alternator's dying. Please, that doesn't happens ;)

Is your car the year that they mounted the charcoal canisters in the back by the gas tank?
If so, I would check that first.
If not, sorry not to be able to help.

if that canaster thing is plugged or broken up it will throw a ses light trust me. it will plug up some stupid emisions valve thing up on the engine bay, aand you will have to replace that and the canaster. don't worry the totall amount of money was like 50 bucks. but its a pain to get it all out, and blow out the line to the engine. i really doubt that is your problem. unless you have an ses light

                  To Wolfy,
I know through personal experience that a charcoal canister and/or vacuum lines associated with it can leak without setting the DTC. The DTC was a set of parameters that must be met in order for the code to be set and there is some give in there for minor leakage. If you have access to Alldata(or any other info source), look up the trouble code and you should be able to find the values.
                  Hope to help,
                  Jim

Check the rear spoiler. I've driven a couple of 4th gens, and they all make that noise. However...

There's a guy at my school, a senior, trying to improve his e.t.'s and make his car different from the 8 other f-bodies at school, that removed his spoiler. Between that and the subframe connectors, no noise or shakes at all.

                    Am I on to something?
