• Engine question

Lately I've noticed that when my engine is cold, and it's a chilly day out, I'll start it up and it'll rev up by itself and then the revs will drop back down to 1000 rpm, then it will do it again, and repeat this process 4-5 times. Anyone had this problem with their car or know what it is? I was thinking I should run some injector cleaner through it, but beyond that I'm not sure what else it could be. I have a 98 3.8L by the way. Thanks in advance

mine does it as well, though it only revs to 1500 1700 maybe, and only does it 3 or 4 times till it warms up. i dont think it is a problem.

something weird in the engine... mine doesn't rev up and stuff... mine reminds me of sitting behind an extreme cammed chevy infront of me with the completly insane chopped up idle... sounds really really extreme... it only last for like a minute or two then i'm all sad again
