for the 3.8L, and i'd assume, same for 3.4L its under the PCM, u have to remove the PCM and go through the rubber grommet which is down there

it leads to the passenger side of the car (obviously), under the glove box...

there's detailed instructions here on www.installuniversity.com under the "harlen shift light" install

    hope this helps u out

And something to add to this, I just figured out a week or two ago...

The stock wiring coming through there, has a "drip loop" under the pcm, on the engine side of the firewall, that drops down below the grommet before coming back up.

I had run some wiring straight up from the grommet, and whenever rain runs off that drip rail that runs all the way across under the wipers (which happens to dump out right over the side of the pcm and the wiring...), a little bit of water would run down the wires and through the grommet. Making a drip loop lets the water run below the grommet and off the wires, instead of into the car.
