Why is it so hard to find a gas cap for a 98 firebird?
Why is it so hard to find a gas cap for a 98 firebird?
autozone and advance auto parts dont have one. bought one that was for a newer firebird and tried it..didnt fit.
bought my firebird and went to get gas and it didnt have a gas cap. the only junkyard that i know of that has firebirds is 150 miles away. so what can i do for a temporary gas cap?
Re: Why is it so hard to find a gas cap for a 98 firebird?
also.. i was looking in a book at walmart..and it doesnt have a radiator cap for 98 listed. can i use one made for the earlier firebirds? i think it was ?-92..the old style. will these work on my car?
right now i have a radiator cap off of a 97 camaro on it. is that ok?
Re: Why is it so hard to find a gas cap for a 98 firebird?
not to be rude but first off don't buy your parts at walmart, you should be able to get a new cap for your car at any parts store. If you bought a new cap that was coded for a 97 v6 camaro then yes you are fine, radiator was the same 97-98, if you took it used off a parts car or something then I'd say go to a parts store and buy a new one for $5.
Gas cap- autozone lists a non-locking gas cap for a 98, PN 5504. Dunno if it fits, I remember there have been previous discussions concerning this, you might want to search.
