  • Anyone use Mobil 1 Extended performance oil?

I went to get oil today to change my oil and found this Mobil 1 Extended Performance synthetic oil....
    http://www.mobil1.com/USA-English/Mo...rformance.aspx

It says that it guarantees for 15000 miles. On the site it says that you only have to change your oil once a year or 15000 miles, whichever comes first. They also have extended performance oil filters too.

So, has anyone used this stuff? I am kinda worried about only changing my oil once a year. What do you guys think??

Its a matter of opinion... But my opinion... I changed the oil/filter every 3k miles or 3 months, sometimes a few miles early. I use regular dyno juice. I also use the oversized filter.

The engine slowly breaks down little by little as it runs. I feel better draining and replacing the filter more often over something that lasts a little longer.

Granted these new oils may take more to breakdown, but as long as you change it before it breaks down, you are good.

As for dyno juice.... there are thousands of cars that have made it over 200k on it. And by 200k, I am sure the rest of my car will be falling apart that the motor will be the least of my worries.
