  • Won't start

So i was driving in traffic on the freeway (stop and go) and the car gave a little shake and died. it wouldnt start at first but after a few it started up. I made it about a half of a mile and it died again. I then pushed it off of the freeway and since it was low on gas i went and got some and put it in but once it started after about 1 min. it shook and died again. It gives me 3 codes all pertaining to the O2 sensors. p0131, 137, & 151. after it was towed home i waited till the next day to mess with it but it would no longer even start up. i fell like it must be something to do with the fuel because when i try to start it i get no smell of fuel even when im pumping the gas. you would think you would get the flooding smell right? please someone help so i can sell this car as i just got a SS the same day it died.

btw it has 78,000 on it.

I'm gonna take a shot since no one else has... but I'd say your car is running too lean and perhaps you should replace the map and o2 sensors

i forgot to say that i think i have a bad lifter or something also because my car is making a funky noise when i was able to start it for about the first 10-20 secs. along with a broken bolt on the exhaust manifold. small leak for the first 10 secs but goes away also.

thanks for the response! glad someone did to give me an idea. hope some more help comes. but why do i not get a fuel smell when i pump the gas? does the map have something to do with this. also 2 of the o2 sensors are new so there is no way it could say all three are bad right?

sounds like your fuel pump went bad to me, get a fuel preasure gage and check it. I bet that is your problem

i now believe that it is the fuel pump. i cannot hear it prime when i turn the key. i found the valve to the fuel lines under the hood and when i pushed it in there was no pressure in the line. also i cannot believe that the pump cost 450 dollars. does anyone know where to get it cheaper maybe online as i am selling this car when it is running anyways.
