  • Ok so I hear something

Ok I sold my old 1997 White Firebird and bought a 2001 Red with a body kit on it. Same old 3.8l 3800 II engine.

I bought 3 Coils, and a set of wires from MSD.
I bought 6 Plugs from Accell.

That is the only modification I have done to this car.

Now the issue. I'm not sure it was doing it before or right after I put these devices on my engine. Now in the morning or when ever the engine sits for at least an hour when I start it it clicks. This clicking seems to go away after a few seconds. Maybe 15? When I rev it up it gets faster so I know it has to do something with the moving parts inside of the engine. A friend said hes not sure its the lifters or what. Could have something to do with the air? Maybe injectors? Do you know of a quick check that I can do to test this? He said hes not sure any thing is wrong but when I hear the clicking I just have a feeling its something going on.

    Any thoughts?

probably a sticky lifter when it is cold, once it is warmed up it goes away

Yeah. I did an oil change too. I switched to Valvoline Syntheic. I also just add some no smoke to maybe thicken the oil so it might stay at the top of the engine. I'm just worried if there is no oil then well.. you know what happens.

use some seafoam on the car and see if it helps loosen it up
