Well i finally got my car all checked out and worked on. For future reference if anyone is dealing with the same problem, it turns out the reason my car was having a hard time starting was b/c of my purge control solenoid. Not hard at all to replace, and it did the trick.

Passenger side of the intake, a little black plastic thing with 3 tubes comming out of it.

Last time my car had an ses light, I got it scanned and the o2 sensors and the purge solenoid were bad. My car just idled like crap but it started fine. The purge solenoid is simple to change and not that expensive. I'm glad you got it figured out.

i have the same problem w/my 98 just not as bad as you, i normally have to crank it for about 5-10 seconds and when it finally starts it misses and blubbers a little then finally starts running smooth, all ive been told is fuel filter and plugs...my fuel filter has around 5000-7000 miles on it and i dont buy cheap gas so i dont think thats the problem, my car has 57k on it...

Same here. Sometimes fires up fine. Other times stumbles off than starts fine, and yet sometimes wont start forever. Its weird.
