The thing is... it doesn't leak... I have checked it before. And when I went out to check I forgot but I keep rags in there as well and they block the hole anyways... Even if they were still not in there I would be confident that I amd not pouring water down the track.

And you will probably say I am making up the stuff about rags, but reason they are there, I keep them in there to wrap the points where the spare rubs against the metal. Nothing more annoying then a slight sqeuking noise from the trunk do to the rubber of the spare rubbing against the metal...

and actually I do know what its like to see a f-body loose it on the top end, happened to a friend of mine 2 weeks ago. wrecked his 98 Silver convertable LS1 at the top end, we think oil or some other fluid.

I coudl understand telling me about it if I was some newbie to drag racing... but I have been doing it for a few years and have seen the no-no things to do at the track.

-don't drive through burn-out box(drive by and reverse back to if necessary)
-don't run AC, run heat to trip cooling fans(big problem at my track, since its in FL and near a swamp, AC condenses and drips on track
-make sure your sh|t is running right, everyone hates it when a car breaks down for a stupid reason, or if we have t wait for the cleanup of fluids you are shooting everywhere.
-Don't turn around on the dragstrip if you miss the first turnoff there are more down at the end(antoher problem at my track)

and dont be mad cause you cant even spin your tires when its wet out if you had a fast car you would understand

have you ever seen a high hp car hit the wall topend, and why because some stupid v6 owner was trying to run a 14 ha that would piss me the **** off

hey all this is my first post anyway.

Why do that the tires arnt rated at more than 55mph and there steel rims. Just get some custom 13" alluminium or magnesium($$$) rims for the front end sure it might cost more but hey whatever your money not mine.

I run 45/30 I start high on rears and drop it, I seem to hook pretty well aorund 30.

45psi front ain't that bad, becuase that is what I put them at while hot(on way to the track), when the cool they drop a few lbs...

not to flame you or anything, but two things.

1. page two says what you said about the spare tires
2. the thread is 1 year and 3 months old.

although i read through it again. maybe someone by now will add a "new" idea for a free mod.

but hey, at least you are using the search instead of just being lazy and asking questions everyone has asked a million times. mad props to you.

If you pull your belt, what makes power for the battery and alternator, steering pump and everything else?

Nothing, you have no power steering or water pump. Its only used just for the drag down the strip. The battery supplies the power to fire the spark plugs, suprisingly...

tThat is because a spare isn't a skinny, it's a spare they aren't designed to go faster than somewhere around 55-65, plus they aren't designed to support that kind of weight (having two skinnys) they are just basically a crutch. as for driving without a belt i would seriously consider finding a small belt to at least spin that water pump.

Try pulling the rear driver side spring isolator (put reinforced hose on the top coil) this should take weight out of that side making the two sides more even when the car is torqueing at launch (air shocks or air bag is a better way to do this).
