if anything the higher octane will remove any risk of detonation...thats the whole point

with the higher octane.. it will push the timing more and more till it hits detonation.. then adjusts accordingly

there was a SOTP feel when i went from 87 octane to 93..

Thats B.S. you more likely had a problem with bad 87 octane gas...

I should no improvements with 87, 89, 93, or 100 octane gas in my 94...

I wasn't too sure if there was anything different with my 3.8L and OBD-II

All the higher octane will do is eliminate knock, but if your car is running fine it won't do a thing. If I coudl advance the timing that would be nice

yup i second that. even "low lead" avgas still has lots of lead to screw up an auto engine. it's only gonna hurt you.

mustangeatr...maybe remove your engine lift points off your engine? it's easy to do & is worth about 5 lbs off the front of your car.

Won't running too high an octance cause detonation??

higher the octane slower the burn... slower the burn the less of a chance for detonation

put a bag of Ice on your intake before you run it helps a little, saw it in a hotrod mag.

Actually I do 3 bags, I wedge one under the cowl on the intake and the other over teh TB, and put the IAT sensor on it, the 3rd sits in the spare jack spot, and when the wonder under the cowl melts throwout the night, I put the 3rd bag in the spare and jack spot in its place.

so basicly your letting water drip out of the spare tire area (there is a hole there) and its going onto the track during your pass.

GOD I HOPE NO CAR WITH OVER 300 HP HAS TO RUN AFTER YOU AND LOSE IT ON THE TOP END AND PUT THEMSELVES INTO THE WALL

Actually before I take it off, I take the bags go over to the side, poke a hole in the bag, and let the water drip out.

the rate of ice melting from me pulling into the staging lanes, burning out, and running down the track doesn't leave water in spare tire area... Entirety of it sitting back there is less then 1.5 minutes... I know this timing rate of engien heating, without belt, and also thining of doing some video... and I have a digi-cam tht records small videos.

I am not stupid, I don't spray water all down the track, and even beyond that I do not want a spare tire well full of water.

So calm down their skippy, I have been to the track before I am not an idiot.

your saying no water drips out at ALL

I find that very hard to beleve

you live in FL its not like its cold there, ice does melt if the temp is anthing above 32 deg F im sure it was above that or atleast condinsation from the bag

im sure a couple oz atleast melts during your pass

there is a hole where you keep your ice

theres honestly no way you arnt dripping atleast a little

thats all it takes for a big hp car to eat the wall topend

                        NOT COOL PERIOD

Your right I am a death trap and disgrace to everyone...

the rubber grommet is roughly 1/4 above the rest fo the metal, I am guesstimating roughly 3 square feet of surface area for the bottom of the spare/jack compartment.

there is condensation, little wetness from the bag, not enough to fill up 3 square feet of area and rise a 1/4in..

How much ice melts in approximatiely 1.5 minutes usually less, time then that?

I also place the ice to the rear of the compartment behind the hole for better weight transfer, so the G-forces of my car(not many) will cause the car to go rearward anyways, away from the hole.

Are you that guy that constantly IMs me trying to start arguments? if so your gay and its getting old.

and dont be mad cause you cant even spin your tires when its wet out if you had a fast car you would understand

have you ever seen a high hp car hit the wall topend, and why because some stupid v6 owner was trying to run a 14 ha that would piss me the **** off
