  • Progressive doorlock bypass help!

so i read on here how to do this on the website but i cannot unplug the green harness, at least the only green harness i see where 5 wires that are described coming out of it. so i spliced the grey/black wire in half and connected the part still attached to the harness to the tan wire by melting the tan wire in the center and attaching the grey/black wire from there. i had the battery disconnected when i did this because i couldnt figure out how to unplug the harness as these two littlegrey clips wont budge and neither will the harness. so i reconnected the battery and it sparked i dont know what happened but now the door locks wont work. so i reconnected the grey/black wire like normal and they still wont work.

    what did i do wrong?

    how can i fix this?

First off, check the fuses. I have a feeling that you blew one of them. I've never done the progressive doorlock bypass, so you'll have to wait for someone else to help ya out with how to get it working properly.

        Re: Progressive doorlock bypass help!

I just did the bypass yesterday actually. You mentioned that the two gray clips wouldn't budge. I don't think that you were trying to unplug the right part of the harness. The gray part is actually part of the light green clip. What you need to separate is the light green from the dark green. There should only be one clip that holds them both together. Hopefully that's what you were doing wrong, if not post again and I'll try to help.

        Hope this helps,
        Mike

is it possible you could give me a good photo of the clip im supposed to undo?

what im seeing is a bright green square with two gray clips holding it in next to it is another what looks to be black square with two clips holding it in. these harnesses are plugged into something up under that area right next to each other. the light green one has the 5 wires and i dont see any other harnesses though. pics would be helpful

Yeah, I'll try to take pictures of the right harness after I get home from work, around 8:30 - 9ish, but it might be a little later.

Here's a picture of the harness. What you need to separate is the light green from the dark green, using the clip that is on top in this picture.

              Hope This helps,

That looks like the one that connects to go back into the body. Check further back down the wires to see if there is another connector in the mess of wires. Mine was just tucked up in with all the other wires.
