My Camaro is misfiring under load in every gear and only under load. (revs fine). No noises at all.
She’s also giving me LEAN codes for both bank 1 and bank 2.
I cannot think of a problem that explains these two concerns.
Is it a random misfire PO300 or does it give a cyl. #. How old are the O2's?
08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
96' Camaro M5 to A4 conversion, alot of mods . GT35R Turbo full suspension. Built engine
I just went through this with my 99, one of the coil packs was bad. At low rpm under load it missed like crazy but in the higher rpms it ran great. If you go this route make sure you use the Delco ones because the cheap ones are crap. Taking care of the miss will also fix the lean codes.
1.) Coil packs gone bad
2.) Plugs or plug wires
3.) Ignition module
Your best bet are 1 or 3
have your module bench tested to see if it works. If you can give us the cylindar numbers, I can elt you know if it's a coil pack or if oyu should look towards something else. You have 2 cylindars that share each coil pack
Car expresses who you are. If you have a ****ty car, you must be a ****ty person;)<br /><br /><a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/995979\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/ride/995979</a>
Hook up a timing light and move the inductive pick up to each ignition wire in turn. Take note of the timing light strobe. For each wire that you hook up to the strobe should flash consistently. The coil that is not working properly will be the one where the timing light won't flash properly.
If the timing light flashes inconsistently on all wires, then its going to be the ICM side of the system (module, system wiring, sensors).
If the timing light flashes consistenlty on all wires, then it isn't the ignition system. Then look at fuel pressure, EGR valve closure, vacuum leaks, injector function, MAF sensor (unplug maf while engine running if is smooths out the MAF is toast).
Now Playing: \'99 Pewter Firebird, stock, bone stock, and nothing but stock, so help me God!<br />Comming attractions: K&N Filter, Lid Mod, Intake Bellows Smooth Pipe Mod.<br />I dream about: Forced Induction (TC or SC) or NOX (or both!)
possibly not have the same code, for a variety of reasons. the best way to approach this is by doing what cdnfb has told you to do

Thanks but the misfire is only while drive, under load.
Mine was the front one. I bought a coil pack at Advance (the cheap one lasted a day the ACDelco one is still on there). Swapped out the front one and took it for a drive, the miss was gone (I got lucky for a change). If the miss was still there I was going to put the old one back in and swap out the middle one and retest then repeat with the back one if necessary. If you tried it in all three and the miss is still there then I would look at replacing the ICM.
I had the same problem about 3 months ago and it was a coil pack that went bad. I just replaced them with my original coil packs and its been fine ever since.
