Shell Helix isn't easily available in the US so I can't comment on it.

As a gross generalization, a 10W-30 will last the longest before breaking down compared with the others.
A 5W-30 will give the best fuel economy and cold weather starting protection.
A 10W-40 would fare the best in hot weather but penalize you slightly in fuel economy.

The Amsoil XL7500 [I think that's the name] is very similar to a synthetic blend. Any one of these oils you are considering would work fine without damaging your car at all.

when i change my oils mineral oils to synthetic blend, should i change oil filter or oil earlier than normally just to make sure that if there is sludge or deposits, that they not block my oil filter?i think that prewious owner was using synthetic blend before but i have been using mineral oils about two years now and about 20,000miles

Personally, I've switched to the Mobil EP because I like the guaranteed protection and longevity. Only having to change the oil once a year is worth the extra cost.

My 2 cents: No matter what oil you use, you need to change it after 3000 miles. Personaly i change my oil when ever im bored,,, like every 2000 miles or every 6 months, i dont drive my cars very much..i drive company truck...hahaha.
