service engine light

hey guys my 3.4 service engine soon light comes on when i come off the highway and let off the gas for like 5 seconds. its pretty much the only time i have ever seen it come on. i went to get it checked at autozone but they could nto do it for some reason.anybody no the problem??

could be the EGR, or the TPS.. but if you want help you're gonna have to give us the code

yea need a code number but if it is a 95 or 94 alot of times autozones can't do it. if it is 96 or newer they are lieing and are jsut being lazy. check your DLC under your dash and see if it is able to accept a code key if it is square it can.

just rent the scanner from autozone, go on the high way, have it pluged it. and let it scan

well considering they started obd2 on 95+ cars (iirc) and it was also thats about when they stoped using the 3.4l, he prolly has obd

95's had obd2 ports and obd1 computers. you'll need a obd1 scanner and a obd2 connector.

pretty sure its the egr solenoid #3 mine did it all the time till i replaced the dang thing.

my 95 does the same thing, if i let off and blip the throttle and then apply the brakes it doesnt come on. how have is it to replace the EGR?

Yeah, mine does this as well. It does not effect the performance at all so I just ignore it.
