  • Engine cooling fans??

Okay, so I've known now for a few months that my engine cooling fans never come on. I thought it might be a relay, but when I replaced it, nothing happened. Basically if I let the car sit for more than 10 mins the gauge goes all the way up to 210+. And the fans NEVER come on. So I figured the motors were burnt out and Id replace them. Well today I am running some sea foam through my brake booster line, and I stall out the car. And right before it cuts out the fans come ON! They stay on for like 4 seconds then go off. And havent come back on since. What the hell?

To start with, the fans don't come on until 235 degrees.

        No, 260 degrees.

Actually, the fan "start" temperture varys depending on whether the A/C is on. Why do you think so many people install remote manual fan switches?

turn your AC on, if a fan doesnt come on, then you have a problem, if it does, you are probably just worrying about nothing

They dont come on when I turn on my AC. I dont know if has anything to do with the fact my AC hasnt blown cold at all this summer. The compressor was making a strange noise last year and now it just never engages..

Am I low on freon? I know it started making a whining/grinding noise last year. And now theres no cold air. And the pulley turns on the compressor, but the clutch on it never engages. Whats up?
