you can definitely feel it when it cuts off the throttle. my limiter would normally let me hit about 120.... or 118 i guess. it still cuts off when the speedo reads 118, but that is actually about 110 because of the gears. I suppose ill eventually buy the jetscu to fix the shift points, limiter, speedo problem

Negative! Due to government safety regulations, ALL V6 F-Bodies from factory have a speed limiter set in relation to the speed rating of the factory tires.
I have a hard time believing those without PCM reprogramming has accelerated past the factory speed limiters of 108 and 118. Downhill doesn't count! ;)
our governor is based on the reading it gets from the VSS sensor in the transmission. Once 118 is attained, the car limits the amount of fuel going into the engine to reduce power, thus stopping you from going over 118. A manual can run without a governor if you unplug the VSS sensor. You will not having a working speedometer and you will have no odometer (great if you wanna sell you car...the mileage won't go up). You CANNOT do it on an automatic because the transmission relies on speed to determine shifting along with other factors. Doing it in an automatic will lock you in first gear.

True... but still doesn't explain the claims that someone has "buried the needle" without PCM reprogramming and "my car didn't come with one." With the above quoted statement, you can't possibly "bury the needle" if in fact the needle doesn't move! ;)

In my 2000 Camaro M5 with 3.23 gears, on a dyno with no wind & rolling resistance, top speed in my car was 145 MPH. Real world top speed, I dunno yet. I haven't had Autotap hooked up when exceeding the 125 MPH mark.
so the hypertech will get rid of the governer on a 94 manual?

Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
Hi all new to the community here. I have a 2014 RS 6 speed manual... and so about a year ago my tail lights got cracked and eventually the plastic housing...
