I have a 97 Camaro w/ manual tranny. It has a speed limiter. Does anybody know how to get rid of the limiter without disabling the speedometer?

You gotta re-program the computer because the tires are the limiting factor. Get some z rated tires and then you will be able to go as fast as you want.

My car is a 99 with a 5 speed and on I-4 on the way to Orlando, it wouldn't go faster than 115, but over the Bayside Bridge, I have had the speedo to 125 thanks to an incline.

I have a '98, and it will go 118mph. Uphill, downhill, whatever...

You may have a different speed limiter than the US version. Or none. I don't know for sure what you have, but I do know that ours are 118mph.

Ours are based on the speed rating of the factory tires (that's what GM's story is anyway.) But why did they not have a higher speed rated tire available for the v6...???

Seems kind of silly to me. Very similar to the intentional de-tuning of some engines to keep power ratings lower on less expensive models that are using the same engine as a more expensive model.

I've had my speedo buried all the way to bottom, on a few occasions needle hit the plastic. But it did finally cut off then, I'm guessing it was about 120. 95 3.4 M5.

All F-bodies have a fuel cutoff, not a "rev" limiter. A manual car does not have a speed limiter, also what the hell do you guys want to do, go 150 on H rated tires? Get Z rated tires and re program the computer and you could go at least 130 on a manual car.
