  • Coolant Parts Issue

    Searched = nothing.

    From what I can see, I'm leaking coolant from the bypass pipe behind the idler pully assy. The question I have is, has anyone replaced this and according to the parts manual (see link) it says that it's a 90 degree pipe, where as it appears that mine is straight and is it really just o-rings that seal it.

    I need to know if the parts manual is correct before I pull it apart 'cause I'm in italy and there's no autozone here.

      It's real hard to see ... at first I thought my intake gasket was leaking, but that didn't make any sence so I started feeling around, and there it was ... covered in %^&$.

        im not sure about a 97 but our 2002 has 2 of them. yes they are 90*, the one you higlighted goes into the intake manifold and to the assy as shown.
        yes sealed with o-rings.
        the ones (2 of them) for our 2002 are (2) diff sizes
        good luck,

          The manual is correct, that's how it is. Those usually get replaced when you pull the front cover (ie, cam swap), because they get brittle and can break. The part numbers are in the advanced tech section, but it looks like you've already got it. One of them comes with o-rings, for the other one you've gotta buy the o-rings seperately.
