How much effort is it to replace the cover? The cover on the Firebird has been broken since it was new, but I'm just wondering how much the dealer will have to do to fix it.

That part is the weakest link.

I've had two break under warranty - no I don't smoke - I keep extra quarters there.

Is the Camaro ashtray lid the same as Firebirds (for future reference)?
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

The placement of the ashtray is different in M5 cars, but the whole center console in the Firebird is the same design as in my Camaro. The lids don't look any different, so I assume they're the same part.
