my new car has a misfire in low to mid rpms IN DRIVE, idles/rev's a bit rough but decent in park...

tomorrow I'm gonna plug the EGR, see if that works

I ordered new plugs, wire, coil packs, icm

If that doesn't work I'll order fuel injectors

I might also cut off the cat tomorrow just in case

What else can I check? I think i've covered most the 'common' culprits...

also, it throws a SES but I cannot get it scanned b/c no insurance = i cant drive to ****in autozone

Whatever you do, don't cut off the cat unless you're absolutely positive that it's causing a problem. I've learned from my mistake.

I had that, replaced my plugs and plug wires. Misfire went away for about 500 miles, then came back :( Not sure why, thinking I might be burning oil and fouling out the plugs or something.

          Re: misfire

          I made some progress today.

I removed the wires from the 3-6 coil pack and engine idle did not change, when i removed the wires from the other two coil packs, it barely ran when i did that.

That narrows down the problem to the 3-6 coil pack or plug wires 3 or 6, or spark plugs 3 or 6

the SES light is flashing so it most likely is an ignition problem
