    I'd replace the EGR Valve first, its quite easy to do and will increase your mileage. It eliminated my SES light as well. Mileage went way up on my 3.8 M5.

    As far as the O2 sensors go, have a tech take a look at the circuit to see if they're actually heating up for proper output readings and which particular sensor. If you have the time, replace them all.

      well what engine does he have? 3.4 EGR valves can be expensive ... i found one on ebay though for $85... can be quoted over $200-$400 from a shop or auto parts store

          I have the same problem with my gas gauge as well, when I fill it full it goes way past the F mark on the gas gauge.
