• +/- $800 To spend. What should I get?

Alright, by the time I sell my Dell 2005FPW 20.1" Widescreen LCD, and get my income tax money back for this year, and after paying bills, etc etc... i'll have roughly $800 to spend.

I need a new hood.... mine looks like batman's cape the way it flares out right now. Yay for rear-ending a cop. (shh.) New hood, I want an SS hood, but I just don't know if I can fork out the money for it. Shirl has one for sale for $400, so I'm thinking about it if she still has it when my money comes around. New hood, unless it's black to begin with, means new paint. New paint on the hood means I'm going to get it all the way around. (I'm about to take some people to court to get my driver rear QP replaced... and with a new hood, and new QP, why not get the whole thing repainted?) So there goes most of my cash.

Hood will definitely come first, then if I have enough money, I'm thinking headers and CAI. I don't have the knowledge to install headers, so it would be up to the shop... i really like the Pacesetter ceramic ones, which are $300 + install. :(

Sorry for just rambling, but anyways. I'm guessing I'll have enough for a CAI, how much should I look to pay for a kit? Will it be easy enough for me to install?

Perhaps there are other things I should look into before others, all suggestions welcome.

By the way, it's a black 97 camaro A4 with ttops, I already have clears and fill ins, tint soon to come.

I think you should do a little search so you will have a better idea of what you want to accomplish. I would personally start with a CIA and Catback. If you don't care about performance, go with the hood and paint and paint the whole car when you get some more money. A REAL paint job will be a lot more than 800.

if your going for looks get the hood and repaint the car.

if your going for hp and tq, start with the basics. CAI and catback. headers wouldnt be a good idea since the exhuast is still being resticted by the stock catback.

Not a fan of cowl hoods at all.

I'm not going to be racing, no drag strips in this state basically. So looks and sound come first. I figured headers will give me a nice, deeper sound as opposed to stock exhaust with a flowmaster muffler on it.

hold off on the CIA headers. CIA is currently working on a set of longtubes for the 3.8L

He said pacesetter headers . I think you misunderstood CAI(cold air intake) for CIA.
