i know the 3800 can get 30 MPG on the highway (supposedly)...but i never thought the gas mileage could be THAT good. however, i've never once had a "low fuel" light come on in my car. not once. even when my car is on "E" for quite a few miles. i've had the needle at the far left edge of the "empty" mark, and yet no light comes on. now, i'm thinking three things: 1. There is no light. 2. The light, if it exists, is broken. 3. The engine magically uses less gas when it's nearly empty. anybody wanna help me out?

It may be that your sending unit is on the outs. My last two vehicles (both 1999 chevy's) started giving me trouble and then went out. It really sucks b/c if I forget to reset my trip, I have to fill up sooner than I probably need to.Geaux Tigers

I've never seen a low fuel light either come to think of it...could it be that it was an option on some models?\"this isn\'t flying...its falling...with style!\"<br /> -Buzz Lightyear<br /><br /><br /> 96 bright red firebird, T-tops, monsoon CD Flowmaster catback dual exhaust <br /><br /> <a href=\"http://members.cardomain.com/joyfellowship1\" target=\"_blank\">http://members.cardomain.com/joyfellowship1</a> <br /> <a href=\"http://www.joyfellowshipchurch.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.joyfellowshipchurch.com</a>

i've never had the low fuel light come on either and there are times when the needle is really low and there is never a light. the car ran out of gas once when my dad was driving it and i asked him if the light came on and he said that he didnt see it so either it doesn't work or my dad is just stupid.<a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/id/ohmygoth\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/id/ohmygoth</a>

in a word... yes... mine i'll have 1/4 - 1/2 a tank left and ill make a right turn, all the gas goes to one side of the tank and gets below the sensor on the other side. my light is actualy "check gauges" but still, thats what happenes with me, aaaaaaall the time.

when my gas needle gets down about a half centimeter past E, the check gauges light comes on and the engine seems to run a little rough. the "low fuel" light is probably just the "check gauges" light.1996 Pontiac <a href=\"http://www.fullthrottlev6.com\" target=\"_blank\">Firebird</a> <br />Black, 3.8L A4

My check gauge light goes on when I have just over 1/8 a tank of fuel... which is annoying because I have to deal with it for a few days before I actually have to fill up. No reason to go to the station for fuel when I have 280 miles on a tank when I can go to about 340 and still be over the E line.2001 Camaro, 3.8 v6. Five speed. Red. Yeah, I've never seen a "Low Fuel" light when I run low. I have seen the "Check Gages" light when I got low on gas and was driving downhill while braking. I've been told that it's not good to run them while they are low on fuel. The gas helps to keep the fuel pump from getting to hot and dying.~Chris<br />1999 Hugger Orange Camaro<br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273836\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273836</a> <br /><br />†…faith…hope
