is it strange that i've never had a "low fuel" light come on?
or pre-98. and my car actually just totally dies from lack of gas when the needle is even with the 'E' line. yea, and for some reason, half a tank of gas brings my gauge to 'F', and the other half a tank pushes the needle past 'F'.
basically, from max fuel to F is about half a tank, when i get from F to the first line below F, thats about 3/4 of a tank gone, then the gauge just plummits into oblivion (or until my car dies or i fill up).

My car is like most, runs out of gas at the 1/4 level. I have never seen any low fuel or check gauges light, (the wife has run out 3 times)EVEN after I told her not to let it get below a 1/2 on the gauge . I was thinking that because the fuel gauge ALWAYS shows plenty of fuel, the supposed light never comes on?

My gauge is so inaccurate, I usually just throw in like 15$ every week or two. When I fill it up, it goes about 1/4 OVER full, and dies at around 1/4 left, if that makes any sense. I've only run out of gas once, which happened to be a bad day considering it stopped on a hill on the highway on a bridge, so I had the entire lane blocked off.
I've never seen a low fuel light, but I think I do remember the check gauge light coming on. Kind of sounds like an easy way to do it..
Inaccurate gauge is right! Mine goes like this...
full...full....full...full....

I thought I was getting really good gas mileage, till I figured it out one day walking to a pay phone to call someone to bring me a can of gas!lol
