  • Raspy sound coming from under car

I have this very very VERY annoyin' raspy sound coming from under the car. I was driving it fine today until I got back from the mall and then it started making this very loud raspy sound. Maybe it could be my catalyc converter, maybe? I have no clue what it could be so any help will be appreciated it

More than likely your cat is starting to give out and break up. Order a Catco and have it popped up in there.

If the very loud rasping sound is coming from UNDER (not your tailpipe) your car it has nothing to do with a clogged cat  Its a hole in your exhaust somewhere before the muffler. Take it to an exhaust shop.

When my cat was bad (just got it replaced with a catco) my car sounded horrible. Sounded the the exhaust was coming out right below me (drivers seat) and rattled like you wouldn't believe.

The exhaust sound could have been described as a raspy noise.

The two choices are either a bad cat or an exhaust leak. Neither of which will be that expensive. If your car has under 80K the cat will be covered under warranty as mandated by federal law (if you want to stay with the OEM cat).

Is it which ever comes first?

Exhaust components are 7/70K. Catalytic converter and other stuff are 8/80K.
