  • Water IN the doors?

This may be a totally stupid question, but when it gets really cold, my drivers side lock freezes. This doesnt happen often but turning the key sometimes wont do it so I have to get in the passenger side and unlock it with the power locks. Anyway I didn't think much of it until I noticed that the stiff piece of weather stripping lining the window bwetween the bottom of the window and the door is starting to seperate from the door. It's lifting up and there is now a small gap there. Could water from rain, car washes, melting snow etc be entering my door from this small gap? It may be a foolish question but I dont want my door filling with water slowly and freezing or anything.

Water get's inside of the doors all the time. There is a small hole at the bottom of the door to let water out.
If the seal is coming loose, you'll need to fix it with some weatherstripping adhesive -found at any auto store.

When it's extremely cold here, I take a rag and soak it with WD-40, then rub it over and areas that may freeze together. As for your locks, I'd put some motor oil on your key and work it in the lock a few times to lube it. It may still freeze after that, but it won't take much effort to break the lock mechanism loose.

This is the stiff piece of stripping though, it doesnt seem to want to bend back into place. Should I just force it? My main concern is that the adhesive won't hold and it will seperate again later.
