If i do the a/c delete and put the pulley there will that be the idler now ?

What engine do you have?
I deleted the A/C on the 3.8 and all I had to do was get a shorter belt. The routing was the same, it still hits the idler pulley with the smooth side of the belt, so there was no need to change it.Representin' Team Red In The North
