Lol it's a V6 buddy. Don't get too worked up over a dent in the exhaust.

i would have to really dent the header to make it work. and i have the shorty socket and shorty plugs it still hits on that cylinder. the only thing that looks possable is to slot a socket so the plug fits over the side. an open end doesn't work because of the chamfeur on the head recessing the plug. tried that one first thing. oh well doesn't matter much not i snapped a rocker stud so it's down for a wee bit.

Use and offset box end wrench from underneath. I think I had to shorten my wrench a bit so I could get more turn because your between the block and the header and it is tight.

being a v6 has nothing to do with the fact. just saying there are so many other alternatives to bashing in the exhaust to get the plug out.
anyways demt the header isnt going to do much to get the plug out anyway. You would have to hammer it almost flat which wouldnt be a good idea

are your RK sport headers street legal? I was gonna buy 1 but it says for OFF-ROAD USE ONLY...

On my car its in the way just enough I can get a regular spark plug socket on but no wrench/nuckle/extension. Before the SLP socket I had a smaller 5/8 socket thar barely worked and scared of breaking plugs with angle I had to put on them. I'm sure every set of headers is slightly different but compared to stock I love the headers.

On the driver side I dented in one of the primary tubes because the steering shaft was rubbing. And my Y-Pipe is a a semi-circle shape because of low clearance between the road and pipe I never really noticed any decrease in performance.

Just throwing some ideas out there for you.

Re: pacesetter header spark plug problem

As I stated initially. Get it from the bottom. I have a craftsman (in case length varies from brand to brand) plug socket that nearly hits the header (pacesetter) when fully inserted over the plug. An open end wrench to break it loose; you can and should loosen/tighten them by hand as much as you can. The shorty plugs give you enough clearance to place the socket over the plug comfortably.

Regardless of engine size, denting the header would be the lazy/half a$$ed way to get it out.

My headers rubbed against the same steering knucle, had the knucle grinded a tad bit. It hasn't rubbed against the header since.

i just did the plugs wires and coils on a 99 camaro on friday. that maro was stock. i found that it's alottttt easier to do the plugs etc on my camaro with the pacesetter headers.
