Bad Plug Wires

Wow, didn't know that autozone could run codes. HOT! You all are incredibly right when you say that the engine runs hot, circulation in the #5 cylinder/plug/plugwire area is at a minimal, very close to the wheel well too. To change the plug i had to come in under the car, up through that hold just forward of the cat... and that was a pain. I snapped the plug in half trying to get it out. I"ll definitely try out the plugs and plug wires ya'll suggested. Thanks very much guys. In retrospect, i think part of the reason the problem persisted the way it did is b/c i had the heat sheilds off (the ones around the headers) and i wasn't aware that a plug wire could be damaged by being too hot. Obviously if the silicone is melting there's a problem, but i think you know what i mean. I know i melted one wire b/c it was resting on the header itself. I also volunteer firefight on the side, and i can tell you the smell of an electrical fire was coming through my vents as the AC was on. Oh and yes, the SES light has been on. It all started on a rainy day, i put my foot down, and it fealt like the whole drivetrain was shaking. Very little, and very poor acceleration. yeah, i'll have my boys and autozone run that code again, and maybe i need to have them look at my coil/s. I'll definitely buy some of that plug wire sheathing. Thanks again fellas.
