A few months ago the car set a P420 code, which I used my scanner to clear the code, and then never received it again. After a couple of weeks after the car started setting a P305 (#5 misfire) code, but it only did it after the car warmed up.
To try and deal with the misfire, I started at the bottom and worked my way from there. First was coil packs.. replaced all, next plugs, then replaced the wires, after ICM and then I didnt think it was ignition. So went to fuel. First fuel filter, checked pressure at the end of the fuel rail, switched the injectors to see if was setting a misfire code on a different cylinder, which all kept getting the misfire P305.
So after all this I got a new MAF, cleaned the TB, and even went as far as taking replacing the upper/lower intake gaskets to see if i was leaking antifreeze into the cyliners somehow. The gaskets were okay but glad I replace them. Still no fix!
Well today I checked the codes and now I am getting a P175/P300 and no more P305. This whole time I have been thinking it might be my cat going out and my rear O2 is sensing it, but would that really cause a misfire code in only the #5 cylinder for a long time, and would it cause a code at all? Now the car is vibrating while in drive and slugish at starts like the power is gone. All which leads me back to the cat!
Anyone ever have a problem like this? I am lost of where to go now. Any advice!
