  • what is the plug under the throttle body intake?

    its a plug with 3 prongs sticking out then a plug plugs into it. what is that called? and what can it cause if its bad or not hooked up?

    the plug on my firebird was hooked up but was also melted..the black plastic part.. my 97 camaro has the same problem.

    nevermind. engine coolant temp.

    could that cause overheating?

    how am i gonna replace the black part of the plug that melted? cut and replace it?

      It could cause overheating because the fans never kick in, but its doubtfull. You should be able to get a new connector from an auto parts store, or a wreckers fairly easy, just cut & splice for an easy fix.

        Unplugging the coolant temp sensor will cause the car to run rich as ****.

          i hope u mean the sensor running to the computer and not the one that controls the gauge right?
