cold air intake doesnt necessarily mean its COLD air.
the only purpose it serves is that its a non restrictive high flow flow of air to the engine.
There is no "cooling" effect associated with a CAI96 Camaro M5. There is cold air in that the filter is further out of the engine bay and getting fresher air which is much more likely to be cold than the air in the engine bay.
