Looks like my fuel pump took a crap. Cheap place to buy a new one?

My car didn't start again and I've been having problems with it off and on. I had it towed today and they said it was the fuel pump. The estimate was about $1100! That's about 1/5th the value of the car. I really don't know what the hell to do. They are going to store my car for free for a couple of months until I figure out if it's worth repairing. Anyone know a place to buy an inexpensive fuel pump? I'm going to call the usual suspects on Monday. (Advance, Vato Zone, Car Quest, etc.) This really sucks. I could do ALOT with the $1000 it would cost to fix my car.

go aftermarket. walbro 255lph ones cost less than a stock one iirc.

what signs did it give you before it died? Mines humming, (has been for a couple of years now) and im worried.

walbro 255lph? those work on our cars i looked online and didnt see ours under the list so do you use the universal

Only 'modification' needed to work is some metal strap ties to hold it on the stock pump mount
