  • 98 Camaro 3.8 V-6 Evap emissions piping?

Does anyone know if there is a check valve anywhere in any of the evap emissions lines running between the gas tank and engine? I believe there is a vacuum check valve at the brake booster for the ac vacuum controls at the dash. Just wondering if there is suppose to be one between the evap purge solenoid valve and the gas tank? Thanks for your support, Tommy.

Isn't there an electric PCM controlled purge valve?

Brain, yes I believe it does. However, I was just wondering if there were a leak somewhere in the system, and if there was a check valve installed by factory design, it would prevent a vacuum leak back to the intake. So far, all of the diagrams that I have seen, does not show a check valve, not in the evap pluming lines anyway? Perhaps there is one installed internally somewhere at the gas tank, I really don't know. That's what I'm trying to find out. Thanks for your support, Tommy.

Most vents going into the tank would have a check valve to keep the fuel in the tank in the event of a roll over or in case the tank was overfilled . This would be the simple ball type. I don't think it would also hold vacuum.... but you never know.
