  • REALLY CHEAP MANUAL FAN KIT!!!

hey guys...just wanted to give you a heads up that an eBay seller by the name of Proautowerks is selling manual fan mod kits for 9 bucks! I emailed the guy about them to see if they would work for the 93+ camaros and firebirds with the v6 (because he has them posted for the LT1 and the LS1) and he said they will work! here is the link to one of the auctions:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eb...529844&r=0&t=0

there are several other auctions for the same product. just look at his other auctions to find them. just an FYI. also, if you win the auction, dont forget to tell him what kind of car and engine you have so that he knows which kit to send you.

doesn't the manual fan switch mod pretty much consist of completly wire and a switch.. which he isn't selling? All you have to do is splice into the negative cable on the fan control wires up on the fender. I may be mistaken, but i'm not sure, what parts is this guys actually selling?

well, as soon as I get the kit in the mail i'll let post and let everyone know. also its kinda strange that RKSport sells a manual fan kit for 65 bucks, so why would it be so much to just splice a wire or 2? have you done this mod? just wondering

That's correct -- All you need is the Shanemar instructions. Quite simple:
DPDT Center off Toggle switch was like $2-6 or sometin'
Wire (2 from engine compartment, + and GND)
2 LEDs (mine were already in a mounting thing and had resistors already) $1.49 each or somethin'

Don't dare buy anything off eBay. Sorry dude, but it's your own darn fault when he sends you JUST a switch. or a $.32 resistor for the !IAT, etc. Umm ... don't buy off eBay. Don't buy off eBay. What more can I say?
If you're going to buy a "parts kit" from there, you MIGHT AS WELL GO TO RADIO SHACK because that's exactly what the seller is doing, only charging a boatload more for it.

EDIT: OMG!!!!!! IT DOESN"T INCLUDE A SWITCH OR WIRE!!! What the hell is in the kit then? You are so screwed, dude, so screwed. All you need is a wire and a switch, so he must be just selling you instructions.

the difference between the home-made switches and the ones that SLP and RKSport sell are the fact that they actually have a plug-in adapter that you put in front of the factory 10-pin. it does look better than simply tapping in the wire, but dont know if its worth the extra 50 bucks
